Ozzy is a small male dog who was lost or abandoned in a terrible state of neglect – malnourished, dehydrated and with seriously matted fur. His rescuers contacted Adoption Dogs Portugal and, with their help and support, we arranged for him to be seen by the vet for grooming, microchipping and sterilisation before he arrived at our shelter.
Despite his troubles, Ozzy is a playful, affectionate little guy who loves to be cuddled by his carers and shows no sign of fear or shyness with strangers. He is young, with an estimated age of only 12-18 months, and currently weighs around 7 kg.
Ozzy gets on extremely well with the other dogs in our shelter, entertaining the younger puppies while remaining respectful to our resident adult. He walks well on a lead and is very enthusiastic about these outings. He can also be trusted to walk off-lead in quiet locations with no traffic and recall is good.
Ozzy will require patience and gentle guidance from his adopters, as he is a high-energy, enthusiastic and tenacious little dog who has had some bad experiences in life. But he will also be an extremely loyal and cuddly companion, as he values human attention and contact above almost everything else.
