Macey is a young, enthusiastic dog, with lots of energy.
As far as we know she used to be a chained dog. Unfortunately she got stuck with her chain in some bushes and cried for help. Luckily a wonderful lady heard her, and with the help of the fire-brigade cut her free! She was so scared, and escaped again and became pregnant. At the end of her pregnancy Macey found the lady who helped her before, who gave her food and gained her trust.
Her rescuer reached out to us for help, as it was not clear if Macey had given birth already. Macey like any great mom, led us to her 7 puppies in the woods, who only a few days old were all very healthy. Although being a very young mum, she is doing great with her puppies, following her instinct.
We have taken Macey and her litter into our care. At first Macey was a bit timid and unsure of us being around her litter but very quickly she accepted us. She is lively, happy, friendly, longing for attention and active.
She seems to be a very quick learner and also eager to please.
On walks when she is running loose, she keeps an eye on us, and has great recall. She loves sniffing, and likely to have some hunting instincts. We believe she may be a mix of labrador and another hunting breed. Macey is good walking on a lead already, but needs some more guidance to improve.
All together, she is a very loving, loyal and friendly dog. She needs to gain trust, and can be weary of men, but if given the chance would be a wonderful family companion.
A family with a confident dog or as a dog alone, with experience and a (fenced) yard would be perfect.
